How Wild is our God!?!

As one can probably figure out from the name of this site, I am amazed by the Creation’ that surrounds us. The mountains and oceans, fields and streams, all speak to me of the amazing One who dreamed it all up and created it.

Today however, I looked at another aspect of Creation’ with new eyes… His Creatures !!!  My wife urged me to take the day off, and once I agreed we packed up to take our 10 month old daughter to the Zoo for her first “Zoo experience.”

Laden with camera and diaper bag (its a Columbia pack) we embarked on the grand adventure of navigating the packed walkways. Now while this would normally bug me (the crowds), it was for my daughter so I decided to make it a good day.

As I flipped into “Photographer Mode” I began to take in my subjects and was suddenly aware, in an indescribable way,  just how Wild & Wierd, these animals are.  I would never in a million lifetime have dreamed up Giraffes, Jaguars, Ardvarks, Squirrel Monkeys, Green Mambas, Wierd Toads, Water Oxen, etc….   Who is this God who takes pleasure in creating and watching these wild things!?!  Who is this God, Who would prize us, above it all?     Next time you look at one of the creatures that surround us, whether a strange beatle or the family cat, stop a think about just how amazing it really is… and then try to wrap your mind around the one who made it.
