With the three of us newly married, me with my first child (born a month before), and Josh with a pregnant wife, We needed mountains and quick… but where to go?!? 8 hours north to the Appalachian Trail in Northern Georgia. After leaving late and driving all night, we arrived a dark…. VERY dark and misty packing lot about a 1/4 mile north of “Mountain Crossing” at Neels Gap. Now it is daylight and the story begins…
